Overview Areas Covered: Townships located along a 100 kilometre ridgeline west of Sydney and the Blue Mountains City Council.
Our Approach Funding is now available to run arts workshops and skills development opportunities for young people aged 12- 24 as part of the ArtStart program. Several grants of $2,000 and $4,000 are available. Workshops must introduce young people to art skills and or support established young artists in furthering their training and development. Council is also seeking expressions of interest for young people to join the ArtStart Youth Advisory Committee. Soon to come is the Emerging Writer's Prize 2009!

Okay, so you’re a MUSICIAN, you’re pretty confident… you’ve even been doing a few shows, but now you’re wondering … can you really make a career out of it?

 

Or… you’re a WRITER. You’re thinking – will I end up a waitress my whole life? Where can I get some training that will help me make a living? What can I do at University?

 

Maybe this is YOU… or maybe you’re a DANCER, a DESIGNER, a CARTOONIST, a PAINTER, a CIRCUS PERFORMER or some other kind of artist.

 

The big question is… where to now??

  • Course information from TAFE & Uni
  • How other young people have made a living in the arts
  • Opportunities to get a mentor

Art Voice includes a series of interactive art workshop to create positive imagery and promoting self-confidence & safety for young women. Final outcome will include an exhibition of completed works and projection of images in a public place.

Five art workshops to inspire your creativity where you can develop your art skills, techniques and knowledge and create artworks ready for exhibition in the Winter Magic Art Street Exhibition 2010.

Participants will also receive an art pack to continue art beyond the sessions.

Workshop dates: Fri 25th September 4-6pm, followed by three workshops during the school holiday's 10am-2pm: Tues. 6th October, Thur 15th October, Fri 16th October and one other final date.

This exciting project will bring together young indigenous and non-indigenous youth to gain knowledge and skills in Contemporary Indigenous dance, drama, physical theatre, photography, projection and performance.  Workshops with leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, will result in a performance by the participants.

Wellspring is a series of workshops for young people with disabilities.
The direction will be largely dance however percussion musical instruments and sensory props will be part of the beneficial experience towards self expression and confidence.  No previous experience is required for the workshops held during August and September
