IMPRESS YOURSELF, the illustration created by Matt Huynh, an emerging artist and comic creator from Canley Vale NSW, has been selected as the new campaign image for ArtStart 2009.

The mysterious pen and ink drawing of a spacewalker crossing a lunar landscape was chosen from a wide field of striking designs created by young artists to promote ArtStart 2009.

“I created this illustration with a new, young artist in mind”, said Matt, “I wanted to show the ArtStart program as an opportunity to ignite those who may not have been involved in the arts in the past to dip their toes in for the first time, a new frontier and an open horizon of opportunity”

“It’s about finding the resolve to make your own distinctive mark,” said Matt. “The main themes are discovery, adventurous experimentation, risk, promise and unrealised potential, surprise and the unknown.”
